The story goes that the idea for TW2K came from a meeting between Richard O'Brien and the president of Oglio Records (who was already involved in the US release of Absolute O'Brien). After a good bit of wine, he told Richard that what we needed was a Time Warp for the new millenium (it being 1999 at the time). So after getting back home to England, Richard O'Brien and his son Linus came up with these tracks.
"The Time Warp 2000" is definitely a very polarizing single among Rocky Horror fans - most everyone seems to either love or hate these techno Time Warp versions intensely. You do also get the "Angel In Me" track from Absolute O'Brien though. One amusing thing to note is that for a CD to count as a 'single' for chart purposes, its total playing time has to be less than twenty minutes. This CD maxi-single comes in at exactly one second under that...:-)
As of this writing in 2009, the CD is available direct from Oglio for $1.00 plus shipping (which I can only really interpret to mean that they're desperate to get it out of their warehouse).
