As you may or may not know, all media files on this site (sound files
, plus some of the larger photos
and album images
) are accessed through a separate domain: RockyArchive.org. I set this up so that I could host the most bandwidth intensive files elsewhere, to avoid some previous problems I'd had with that sort of thing consuming all available bandwidth.
I ended up using DreamHost for this, since they were inexpensive while offering lots of disk space and bandwidth. Well... There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch. I've had issues with them a few times, which isn't unexpected with shared servers (there's just too many ways people can screw them up). I ignored this since these issues were always temporary, and I figured anything that only affected the media files wasn't exactly an emergency anyway. However they've had a LOT of problems over at least the past couple of days - possibly longer. So I finally just cancelled the account with them entirely today, and am hosting the media files from the same dedicated server as everything else.
It may take 24 hours for some people to see this though, since I had to change the nameserver information for the domain. It appears to be working just fine for me at home currently. If after a day it still isn't working for anyone, please let me know.
