[Hello everybody Was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on what makes The Rocky Horror Picture Show a cult film? And why do you think it has attracted such a huge fan base? Any answers would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!! |

I have been a huge fan of Rocky Horror ever since I saw the film as a young man (15 years a go). The parade of crazy characters were so interesting and something I could relate to as a person with alternative tendencies. The fanbase is more than just a collection of people that enjoyed a film but more of a community that will watch the film and see the stage show repeatedly, particapating as much as possible. Whether it is dressing up, singing along or throwing kit kats at the stage, you really feel part of something special that almost enables you to express yourself. There is an element of extravagance and the risque nature provides an escape from my mundane life. There really are no other fans like Rocky Horror fans, they accept anyone but the crazier the better. Jimmy |

I'm a huge fan cuz well...it's weird! it's different! i guess you could say its one of those things where outcasts go to feel like they belong and that's probably why it has such a large fan base because it grabs and keeps peoples attention. Since finding Rocky Horror I've had a little more confidence in who i am. Frank taught me how to be myself and be proud of who i am, Magenta taught me to do anything for the person i love and to face my problems instead of shying away. Columbia taught me how to look on the bright side of things and well...Eddie taught me that its best not to piss off Frank...xD I don't know what Brad and Janet taught me except that every time it rains to go out in the middle of nowhere and try and find a castle xD so i hope this helps a little...lol Kisses! --Magenta |

It gives people a chance to express themselves through characters they can relate too... and the film itself is just plain awesome. You can go anywhere in the world and feel right at home within the rocky community, something i dont think any other film can do. (P.s; The lyrics in your signature are wrong  )
