SO, Rocky audio fanatics, there is yet ANOTHER completely different mix of Little Nell's "Fever" available , as far as I know, only on this 1978 promo: http://www.45cat.com/record/nc550478uk

I assume this was an early mix they decided to change before it's commercial release on yellow vinyl. Thats 4 different mixes of "Fever" now.

1. the 1976 mix
2. this promo only mix
3. THe short (3:11) version on the stock 7 inch release (yellow and black vinyl)
4. The longer (5 minutes and some odd seconds) on the 12 inch and the fever fan kit release.

It was cool to discover this mix ad when I bought the record I merely thought I was just buying a promo version of the regular 1978 release. I was pleasantly surprised to discover an unknown mix.

I just find it amazing that after all these years we still learn things like this. Pretty damn cool. Now if only they'd release another cast recording...maybe from this new South African show that is going on right now. :D

Wow - I was expecting this to be the 'Jensy's Version' that an old Nell fan site had for download, but it isn't....

Maybe THAT was the '1976 mix' that I don't seem to have heard?

Sure that's:

Original version/Jensy's Mix 1976
Single Version 1978
Disco Version 1978
(This) Promo Version 1976-8?

There is still another version of Do the Swim that has not surfaced yet that had been recorded.
for that so far there is:

Original UK Mix (Splash Splash Version)
Single Version (Aquatic Teenage Sex & Squalor)
the version she sang to live with her wardrobe malfunction
and another mix still yet to surface.

I remember reading they made several mixes of the song
possibly on one of the promo pressings?
who knows?

I am almost positive the wardrobe malfunction version and the "Splash Spalsh" version are the same.

Also, I have to go back and listen as it's been a while, but Ke also claims the 12" (Disco Version) and the yellow vinyl single mix are comepletely different. I have been under the impression all this time that the yellow vinyl single mix was just a shorter edit of the 12" version. Am I wrong? Are they two completely different mixes? Also, how do you know there is another unreleased mix of Do The Swim?

The Splash Splash version and the version she sang too on the London Weekend Show (wardrobe malfunction) ARE NOT THE SAME MIX! listen to them. They are different but more similar in comparison to the single version.

as for Fever. The 12" Version is just an extended Mix with a harder backbeat than the regular single version....not an edit of the 12" version.

at conventions and speaking with the makers of her songs they have confirmed there are several versions of her hits Do the Swim & Fever.
