Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. I was recently contacted by a friend of mine - a director and producer in New York. He's looking to create a new theatrical production of "Rocky Horror" that is immersive, decadent, site-specific, and - most exciting of all - uses the cult history of audience participation as the active framing device for the show. In a nutshell, eager audience goers begin to put on the musical when the film projector stutters and fails, immersing our cast of "audience participants" in the real-world consequences of creating Frank's world. Additionally, the barren and decrepit theatre shifts through the show into the immersive world of Frank's mansion!
Obviously there is more than that, I'm here is because he asked me to write and see if there was any interest in crowd funding the production, where anyone who gives money receives a stake in the potential profit of the show. Anyone who gave as little as $15 could receive an investment stake, so when the show makes money, so do they! I told him I thought it was a cool idea and that there is a huge group of fans but that I'd pass the word and see what the internet thought.
Thanks for reading this long thread and I'm excited to hear any thoughts!
