David Bedella performed as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the last U.K. tour of The Rocky Horror Show, for something like sixteen months. Apparently he's just released a solo CD : "The Dean St. Sessions".

Not particularly remarkable news thus far for most of us who didn't see him on stage. However it apparently contains an 'extra' for his Rocky Horror fans, which is a video (it's an "enhanced" CD, so this is on the CD-ROM portion of it) of David Bedella singing "I'm Going Home" as a duet with Richard O'Brien. The CD is available now from Curtain Records for £10.00 plus shipping with payment through PayPal. Rob Bagnall of the TimeWarp.org.uk forums had this to say about it:

Quote:
The video on the CD is very exciting (with Richard leading the vocal for the most part, very different from the way they sang it at the concert). Basically a relaxed jam session, the clip appears to start at the tail end of an out-take of sorts, with Richard gently laughing, "Who wrote these f*cking lyrics?" after presumably fluffing his own song.

Nathan told us on the night that when Richard came to record the song in the studio, he and David only sang it through once (talented buggers, these one-take wonders), and then Richard quickly said "Goodbye", effectively making it clear he wasn't doing it again, and this seems to be corroborated by the footage of everyone leaving the studio immediately after the song on the CD video.

My only slight personal gripe is that the song is not included as one of the actual audio tracks on the disc, meaning that the enhanced cd-rom material is the only way to hear the track, which made me feel cheated just a little bit - although it is brilliant of course, and serves as a lovely and appropriate thank you from David to the Rocky fans who supported him and everyone else on the last UK tour.
