I don't have this yet, but I'm sure it'll just be a matter of time before I order it... :D For those who haven't heard previously, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994) was adapted to the stage and premiered as "Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical" in Sydney on October 7th, 2006. I was intrigued both because... well... it's Priscilla!... and because I noticed that Brian Thomson was doing production design for it. At any rate, I'd been keeping an eye out for a cast album. Unfortunately what they released at first was actually a "soundtrack" instead:

Two CDs worth of the disco music featured on both stage and screen. That's nice, but I've heard all that stuff before. Pass! Fortunately it now appears that they've recorded a proper cast album. I don't see it listed on Amazon or at Footlight as of yet though. I only just stumbled upon it at Middle Eight Music (an Australian store):

$30.95 AUD + $7.00 AUD shipping it looks like, comes out to a bit over $34 USD (damn our weak currency). I haven't found any reviews of it as of yet, but come on... it's Priscilla! 8)

It's pretty good, but sounds more like a bunch of random singers singing a bunch of random songs to me; ie, it doesn't sound like a cast album. They should have done a live recording instead. There's a topic about this on Priscilla's IMDb board.

It's available slightly cheaper at:

(for some reason it's cheaper at their stores, at around $23)
