Just happened to spot this one:

http://tinyurl.com/2446xe

How much do you want to bet that this "very very rare" "non commercial remaster" was taken from the MP3s posted here? Though since they're in Australia, I suppose it is possible that they have a copy of the original LP. In any case, it's only $38 plus shipping if you buy it now! ;)

While I haven't purchased The Stripper from this seller, I have purchased other "rare" items from this seller and can vouch that it is the real deal. Apparently they have access to a Laser Turntable and hence the quality of the CD's are excellent. I have picked up a number of long out of print recordings (particularly Australian Cast recordings) and have been extremely happy with the purchases.

Hmm... that still seems like a hell of a lot of money for copying a LP to CD (and selling as many copies of this "very very rare" CD as you're able). Good job for them having access to the Stripper LP in the first place though.

There's just been too many instances before where I've seen eBay listings with CD-R compilations that suspiciously included only tracks that were posted on RockyMusic in MP3 form. I actually bought a couple of the Tim Curry CD-Rs that people have been selling for ages just so that I could dump them to MP3 and post them here, so that potentially a few less people would waste their money on them in the long term.

Hate to say it, but, if these guys have a laser turntable, and know what they're doing, then this CD will probably be worth the money, even to those of us who already own the LP.

I cannot fathom a better recording unless the copyright owners remastered it from the original masters and released it.

Well, I don't know about anybody else, but, I can't play an LP in my car. :)

Yours didn't come with a turntable? I'd ask for a refund.

As usual, John is entirely correct. I broke down and bought one of these CDs. Both MP3 and lossless FLAC sound files have been posted from it, replacing the older sound files I had posted:

The quality is absolutely fantastic. With that said, I heartily recommend downloading FLACs from here rather than padding the seller's profits any more than I already have.
