I want to be an artist and use those skills to bring in a reasonable income. I had no desire to continue being an office assistant. But my past felt like it was completely against me... I was trained/schooled to be a stable and productive sheep, which consisted of a multitude of office and customer service skills. There's a deep resentment towards my parents and teachers in not seeing the obvious talent I have and getting me into the proper schools/classes at an early age. I was looking at the living art legend, David Hockney's upbringing and furiously cursing him out of envy. After some negative energy was spent on this drawing, I can look back with clearer eyes and see the rational reasons for how I was raised. Unaltered color pencil drawing July 2000. |
