When I purchased a book autographed by my favorite author, I had mixed feelings about it. Jerome K. Jerome left this world in 1927. Knowing this, the book that was in my possession became a catalyst for a flood of thoughts. Foremost was that this item was handled, by a man who no longer walked among the living. Secondly, I wondered who of this day and age was still alive to carry his name and lineage. Finally, I had thoughts/desires to visit this wonderful writer's burial site... which yielded this strange image. Odd coincidence, that the owl pictured here looks very much like the one that the Henry Holt publishers used in their logo that was used in Jerome's day. Pencil sketch slightly computer enhanced.
