I came about this drawing in a backwards fashion. It was the room; furniture, lamp, wallpaper, picture on the wall, that came first. Then the decor of the "room" seems to tell me what kind of person I should draw in the chair. Since the chair had a timeless modern look, but the rest of the room seemed to be very out dated, I had to draw a mature looking man. Perhaps he's pondering his life, or just merely taking a well deserved rest. February 25, 2000.
