A '70's flashback hit me the other day. Appalled by the thoughts of the retro 70's stuff coming back into style again (ugh), I was compelled to draw an unhappy bachelor's face. He's miserable because he's having to endure those horrid fashions (pork chop sideburns, big hair, etc.) again to be marketable on the single's meat market, otherwise known as the local discotheque. He's also just old enough to have experienced the 70's the first time around and is pained by the people who look at him thinking, "Oh, there's a guy trying to recapture his youth." Disco' lights do incredible things to a person's coloration, and I think I've done this justice here. I could easily imagine freeze-framing this man's face with each light change making a very colorful group of images! This pencil sketch was scanned into the computer for some wild colorization. March 4, 1999.
