After watching all the on-line hoopla about Mardi Gras this year, especially the beautiful event posters, I was compelled to draw this image. Unedited pencil sketch. March 2000.
After a year of consideration, I finally came up with the color scheme for this image. I wanted it to have the tri-colors of Margi Gras (green, gold & purple) and appear festive. But it also had to be seductive and slightly sinful as the traditional "Carnival" should be! Colorized March 2001 (just missed this year's Mardi Gras)
