After missing Mr. Tim Curry's stint as a pop singer/songwriter, and several recent benefits where Mr. Curry sang beautiful songs (in French even!)... I began to imagine him singing a ballad to close a show. The wilted/tired rose (probably a gift from an admiring fan in the audience) is a reflection of the drained performer. With expressive, but gentle (and sometimes trembling) hands, he sings the mournful ballad under a blue spotlight and exits, slipping into the shadows of the wings. Unaltered pencil sketch.
